I will now talk about these Channels. I will first talk about the Disc Channel. On the Disc Channel, games can be played on this channel after a Wii game disc, or a Nintendo GameCube disc, is put in the disc slot in the console. There also is a Wii Shop Channel. On this channel, you can buy and download Virtual Console (old) games, WiiWare (WiiWare - Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) games, and other Wii channels. An Internet connection was needed to use this channel. But, the Wii Shop Channel closed on January 31, 2019. Now on to the Mii Channel. On this channel, a player can make a character known as an avatar called a Mii to represent them. This is allowed either in the Mii Channel's online feature Mii Parade, or in games that allow using Miis and most other Wii channels (Wii - Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).

The other Wii Channels that I haven’t mentioned yet are the News Channel, the Forecast Channel, the Everybody Votes Channel, the Internet Channel, the Check Mii Out Channel, the Nintendo Channel, the Today and Tomorrow Channel, the Homebrew Channel, and the Wii Speak Channel. The News Channel is where you look up news on different topics, ranging from national news, to sport and entertainment. The Forecast Channel is where you check the weather forecast on most cities around the world. There was a feature that let you select your local area to receive weather updates. The Everybody Votes Channel is where you see regularly updated polls. There were three national polls (updated on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays) along with one worldwide poll. The Internet Channel allowed users to access the Internet on the Wii. It is based on the Opera Browser (Wii - Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). The Check Mii Out Channel was where you could send and pick up other Miis, and it was also used in voting contests to see which Mii is the best. The Nintendo Channel was where you could watch videos, collect and send feedback on certain Wii titles, and to download Nintendo DS game demos to a Nintendo DS using the DS Download Service. The Today and Tomorrow Channel only was released in Europe on September 9, 2009. On this Channel, you could view advice, hints, daily horoscopes, and a Mii compatibility check (Wii - Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). Another Channel is the Homebrew Channel, which is an unofficial channel (it does not come with the Wii) used for loading homebrew. With Homebrew, you can do many things that the Wii cannot usually do on its own (such as play DVDs, stream media from a computer, and run emulators). The Wii Speak Channel is able to be downloaded, once you buy the Wii Speak, used in certain games like Animal Crossing: City Folk. An Internet connection was needed for all of the Wii Channels, except for the Disc Channel, the Mii Channel, the Today and Tomorrow Channel, and the Homebrew Channel (I don’t know if the Today and Tomorrow Channel needed an Internet connection or not, because it was only in Europe) (Wii - Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
